BAYOU IN THE BAY

NOLA

Alligator dumplings, boiled crawfish, andouille and boudin….yes, there’s a little bit of the Big Easy right here in Palo Alto. The place, naturally, is named NOLA and it was recently voted “the hottest bar in the Silicon Valley” by Fortune magazine. Serving up more than classic Cajun and Creole fare, the restaurant showcases one of the largest collections of Southern folk art on the West Coast, including the colorful works of New Orleanian Marc Bercier. Located in the historic Ramona Street Building in downtown Palo Alto, NOLA spans three floors and features seven fun and funky dining areas, including the Courtyard, Musician’s Row and JFoss, an intimate lounge that’s ideal for private parties. In just about any space, you can order NOLA’ signature cocktail, The Hurricane, a mind-altering mix of four rums, brown sugar, vanilla bean and assorted other ingredients. To coin New Orleans’ preferred catch-phrase, “Laisser les Bon Temps Rouler!”

Address: 535 Ramona St., Palo Alto
